Nestucca River near Pacific City (The “Big” Nestucca of the Nestucca Rivers)
Nestucca River meanders 50 miles from the northern Oregon Coast Range to its terminus at Nestucca Bay and into the Pacific Ocean. McGuire Reservoir, located near the river’s headwaters, serves as McMinnville’s primary water source. As it travels westward, users traverse BLM and USFS land alongside Beaver, Hebo, and Cloverdale communities of Tillamook County until finally reaching its destination on a sprawling beach perched upon tranquil Nestucca Bay.
Nestucca River Recreation Area
The Nestucca River Recreation Area boasts a 15.5 mile section of the spectacular, wild and scenic river. The Back Country Byway along this stretch offers access to 37 campsites and fishing spots at Alder Glen, Dovre, Fan Creek and Elk Bend recreation sites; making it an ideal destination for keen recreationalists!
